Wreck this journal - #1

For Christmas I received a Wreck this Journal by Keri Smith. The point of this journal is to tear it up, get it dirty, let go of your perfectionism. R knew this would be a challenge for me.

I thought it would be fun to share with you my journey through this book.

First, I photographed it's brand new, pristine condition.

And then gently opened it to the first page, writing my name. Not too bad, I write pretty neat. I couldn't get my white gel pen to write, so the first one was written in silver. It's hard to see.

Next, I made my own rule and colored in the instructions.

Yesterday was the first official "hard one".

I took some dirt from a flower pot and rubbed it on the page.  It felt wrong, LOL.  It made a mess, it pushed my buttons. Yep......he knew I'd struggle with this journal!

But to ease my suffering just a little, he also got one for Christmas and is working through it with me. His is different and we aren't doing the same things and he had no problem cutting holes in his cover yesterday!

  2. This is going to be a fun journal to watch you work through! I have to admit though...I cringed with the dirt!!! So it will be fun...but just as painful for me as it is for you!!! We are both going to learn new things through this journey of yours!!

  3. That stresses me out, just reading about it! I am very particular and like things tidy and neat. I wanted to yell out "Don't do it!" about the dirt, ha ha.

  4. This book is very challenging! All my life I've been taught to take care of my things. It will be interesting to see how this journal makes me feel as I complete it. Definitely keeping track of my thoughts and feelings (in my good journal, of course lol).
