A little update

I thought I'd give a little update about what's going on and a little bit of my upcoming plans.

Saturday
First, since the 11th is in the middle of the week, we celebrated my birthday this past Saturday. It was a wonderful day! We had our coffee and watched the sunrise, then we went out for breakfast.  I got a new CD that I've been wanting and then we went to the pet store where I got 3 new fish and a scuba santa for my aquarium.

For my birthday dinner I opted to have him cook for me at home. My choice: chicken teriyaki.  It's one of my favorite meals to cook together. We watched MIB International while we had dinner and then later had a slice of cheesecake.

On Sunday, we got my bike put together. It works both the legs and arms. It tracks time, speed, distance, calories burned and pulse. It also has 8 different tension levels so I can work harder as time goes on.

Monday
I love it! Today was my first official test day and I'm happy to say that I was on it for 20 minutes and went 4.3 miles. It is so much better for my back than the treadmill!

Plans
I'm still calling December a "rest" month, but I do plan to ride the bike for 20-30 minutes every day Monday-Friday. I'm also going to count those miles on my American Discovery Trail journey.

I'm planning a post about my 2020 plans and goals,  so look for that in the next couple weeks.

I hope you all are closing out your year strong and have made plans for the new year. I am looking forward to seeing what great things we all accomplish in 2020.

PS: Happy birthday MaryFran on December 10th! 🎈🎁

  1. Woohoo! How did I miss that we are almost twins on our birthdays!!! Happy birthday to you also!!!

Our birthdays looked similar...I got my birthday gifts but ALSO my early Christmas gift....which was a spin bike!!!! And yes...I’m giving it all sorts of test rides!

I think the bike is perfect for you and will be so much easier on your body! My main question....are you planning to use the bike miles for the walk across America challenge? Or are you keeping that for only steps?

    1. Yay for a new spin bike!!! Yep, I'm going to use those miles. First of all, it's so much easier than walking. And second..... the miles add up faster. LOL
