I've been painting again...and a quick weigh in

All month I've been taking a "diet" break. I scheduled several days and the entire first week off from exercise.  I was obsessing about it every day and I finally had enough! During my mental break, I've been reading, stitching, crocheting, planting flowers and painting.

Here's my latest three paintings.

I like the tree, made using my glue gun, but not too fond of the actual painting part. I'll be trying the glue gun again to see if I can get something better. I love the flowers! Definitely be doing this technique again maybe with different colors.

Now, just because I put health and exercise on the back burner, doesn't mean I haven't been tracking.  It's hard to give up a habit like that lol. So I thought I'd post what my "month off" has looked like so far.

Week 1
Avg wt: 169.6
Vitamins: taken on 6 days
Water: 184 oz
Steps: 14,441
Miles: 5.74
Exercise minutes: 54

Week 2
Avg wt: 169.8
Vit: 7 days
Water: 220 oz
Steps: 28,944
Miles: 11.52
Min: 67

Week 3
Avg wt: 169.5
Vit: 7 days
Water: 204 oz
Steps: 21,469
Miles: 8.62
Min: 87

I'm glad that I haven't gained a bunch during this time, but it's frustrating to see that I'm staying in the same small range in all categories during my time off as I was during my very focused time.  This says two things to me. #1 if I'm getting the same results while "relaxing" why bother focusing on it? And #2 I was obviously not putting in enough effort to see results. So when I get back into it, I've got to give it more!

Exercise won't happen this week due to a pulled muscle in my neck. But I'm hoping to start May with both feet running (ok, maybe just walking lol).

  2. Your paintings are lovely. A very long time ago, I was an artist - I am talking high school! I really want to take up drawing again. The number of steps you are getting in is remarkable.

    1. I've never been a good artist. Painting is just something I wanted to try. So far I'm having lots of fun with it.

You should definitely pick up the drawing again!
