August Review

Oh August,  where do I begin?
I thought July was hard, but I do believe August was even less successful.

HOME goals:
1. Continue house hunting.
☆We stepped up the effort this month by looking at 12-15 houses a week!

2. Work on this house.
☆We completed a few things on the list.

3. Visit mom and B2.
☆ I had a very nice two week visit.

HEALTH goals:
1. Weigh less.
August 1st:  172.4
August 31st: 172.4
*No loss, but no gain!

2. Reach 8k steps two days a week.
* Big fail. Only reach 8k on two days this entire month.

3. Walk 80 miles on The American Discovery Trail.
* Only walked 41.46 miles.

HOBBIES goals:
1. Finish the green frog cross stitch.
* This did not happen.

2. Work on my rag rug.
* Does looking at it count? I don't think so.

How was I successful?
~I accomplished all three of my home goals.
~I got back on track in week 5. (Details to be posted next Tuesday.)
~Maintained my weight.

What didn't go so well?
~Walking
~Exercising
~Controlling my diet on vacation
~Crafts

What can I do differently?
~I think following a planned workout schedule might help. It's got to be better than just writing "exercise today" in my planner.
~I need to get back to better meals.
~Schedule my craft time.
~Eat better on the weekends.

How do I feel?
~Ready to refocus
~Unsure about September

What motivates me?
~Other bloggers. But it seems August was hard for a lot of people. Most of the blogs I follow had a significant decline in posts during August.  I know summer is busy and it's a natural time for posts to slow down, but I think it affected my motivation.  I am hoping everyone can regroup, find their mojo and get back on track as fall and winter nears.

I give myself 2 out of 5 stars.

Moving forward... Let's look at

September will  be challenging!  So far my month looks like this:

1. Blood work for R
2. Kidney doctor appointment for R
3. Pack, move, unpack (another rental)
4. Celebrate our anniversary
5. Shoulder surgery
6. Physical therapy (2 days a week for 8 weeks)
7. Pending surgery for R (might be scheduled for the end of the month)
8. More house hunting  (think we are changing our criteria)
9. Pack, move, unpack again if we find a place
10. I want to walk 60 miles
11. I want to get 6k steps a day
12. Finish my cross stitch
13. Watch season 2 of Outlander
14. Complete some things on my holiday prep list
15. Plan a trip to see grandkids
16. Finalize plans for new things on this blog

It's a very ambitious list! Let's see how it all turns out in just four short weeks.

And as if I needed one more thing, I've decided to follow along with Kristina at Annilehiate the Pounds. She's starting a two month accountability/weight loss challenge.  I can't go all in because of my surgery this month, but I can be accountable for my actions.  For this challenge I pledge to track my food and calories every day and drink at least 32oz of water a day. After these two months the challenge will reset and at that point I should be able to add in some workouts.
