Do you suffer from poor body image, low self esteem or depression due to your weight? What are you doing or what could you do to heal yourself? How do you maintain a positive outlook or attitude?

  1. I suffered from poor body image for years in my younger part of life. As I grew older I saw people who had tumors growing on their face, little children with missing legs, retired young veterans without arms .... anytime I want to complain about cottage cheese thighs or flabby arms, I remember those people and think to myself of how stupid it is to be so shallow and to be grateful for my health and that very fact that I can walk with both legs, carry my children with both arms, and have a face I'd feel like I want to hide! Life is bigger than those things. That's how I healed myself.

  2. Good question. I have a very high self esteem, until I start really focusing on how long I have been overweight, or if I have to see someone who hasn't seen me since I gained weight. Then it's amazing how down on myself I get, despite all my other accomplishments.
