3 Packing Tips

1. Have a plan.
Moving is a big job and it can be stressful.  The best way to avoid most of this stress is to have a plan. Get a notebook and make a list of everything that needs done. Divide your list into sections or by room. And then make a time line and schedule a few of the tasks each day.  By the time moving day gets here, you'll be all packed, organized and ready to go!

2. Declutter before you pack.
Ask yourself, "is this item worth my time and money to move?" Moving is a great time to get rid of those things you no longer want or need.

3. Label every box.
You can color code your boxes by room or person. You can give each room a number and put that number on the boxes or just keep it simple and list what's in the box.

I did a little twist on the above suggestion.  I wrote the room and a number on the boxes. I then made a list in my notebook of each box and it's contents. Each room gets a page. So, it looks like this:

  2. When I am packing, I always have at least one extra box that I call the Goodwill box, for stuff that I don't want to take with us.
